PRIVACY
Your data stays on your device.
Presence is a smart-home app. To do its job, it needs to know about your lights, hubs, and the rooms in your house. None of that information is collected, transmitted, or stored by Presence outside of your device, except where you explicitly opt in.
What stays on your device
- Your zones, scenes, and routines. Stored locally in encrypted device storage. Never sent to a Presence server.
- Your location (if you enable Home/Away). Only used by iOS / Android to fire a geofence callback. Coordinates never leave your device.
- Your firing history (last 90 days). Stored locally so the Activity feed can verify the never-repeat property. Never analyzed for marketing.
- Hub credentials. When you connect Ezlo, Hue, Alexa, etc., credentials are stored in your device's secure keychain. Presence has no copy.
What goes to third parties
- Your hub. When you ask Presence to drive a Hue bulb or an Ezlo switch, it sends the command directly to that hub or its cloud service. That's how the smart home works.
- Voice assistants. If you connect Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home, those services route commands through their own clouds, governed by their own privacy policies.
- Payment processor. If you upgrade to Chaos Pro, payment is handled by Paddle. Presence sees a subscription receipt, not your card.
What is never collected
- Analytics. Presence ships with no analytics SDKs.
- Crash reporting. Crashes stay on your device.
- Marketing identifiers. No IDFA, no GAID, no third-party trackers.
If you opt in to the community library
Presence offers an optional community scene library. When you publish a
scene, only the scene parameters (a base64 string of brightness, color,
and timing values) are sent to api.presence.zone. No device
ID, no user identifier, no metadata about your home. Scenes are anonymous.
Children
Presence is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
